Overview

The Western Project Alliance lead by McConnell Dowell, Arup, Mott MacDonald and Metro Trains Melbourne managed the LCRP for Ferguson Street, Williamstown. This project included 24-hour round the clock construction works, including lowering existing rail lines under a busy arterial road, removing the level crossing, and construction of a new North Williamstown Station. The site was surveyed and mapped to prepare for excavation of a 750-metre trench through basalt rock and clay - removing enough material to fill 20 Olympic swimming pools. Realsurv was commissioned to provide consulting survey management services to directly oversee and manage external surveying contractors previously engaged to provide surveying services on the project.

In addition to this Realsurv was responsible for the preparation of all data management and QA close out for the project.

The project was completed on time with the new station opening in June, 2022.
